Alisun Kovach, DMD
With almost a full decade spent in the world of dentistry so far, Dr. Kovach works hard to help patients regain confidence in their smiles while also taking the time to understand their personal concerns. She goes the extra mile to provide them with all of the education needed to make the treatment process smooth, comfortable, and fulfilling. Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?
Ever since she can remember, Dr. Kovach has had a very artistic and creative side. She also knew early on in life that she wanted to work in a profession that served others. Eventually, it became crystal clear that dentistry was the perfect marriage of artistry, medicine, and service to one’s community. All these years later, she’s never regretted her decision to become a part of this important field.
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
Dr. Kovach graduated from Mercyhurst College with her Bachelor of Science in Biology. She then moved to Boston to further her studies in science, completing her Master’s in Medical Sciences with a concentration in Oral Health Science from Boston University. She remained at the same school to complete her dental training, eventually completing her dental doctorate with a Magna Cum Laude distinction. During her time there, she received several awards, including The International College of Dentists Leadership Award and Outstanding Achievement and Excellence in Patient and Practice Management.
Today, Dr. Kovach remains very passionate about continuing education and completed 100-150 hours of courses each year. She has trained at SPEAR in Scottsdale, AZ and is currently pursuing accreditation with the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and a Fellowship with the Academy of General Dentistry.

What Do You Like to Do?
Dr. Kovach’s family currently lives in Pennsylvania. In her free time, she enjoys traveling to visit them while also making sure to try out lots of local “hidden gem” restaurants. She also regularly attends cycling/spinning classes, paddleboards, kayaks, and explores the wonders of coastal New England.
As for personal interests, Dr. Kovach also has a long-lasting love of nature and the outdoors! She worked in a garden center for 10 years prior to moving to Boston and even had a garden plot in Boston’s historic Fenway Victory Gardens for quite some time where she grew her very own veggies and fruits.
